I love trying new beauty products, and I’m always on the hunt for the new thing in store. So if I buy something again it must be true, true love. Lately I’ve been repurchasing a few of my favorite things after trying an alternative, so I’m sure they’re true favourites!
Fist comes the Bioderma Sebium Exfoliating Purifying Gel, that was featured in my Empties #1 post here. On that occasion I mentioned I was going to finally try something else after buying it again and again for the last few years. Well, I’m back to it already. I was finding many flaws in what I’d bought and I came back to my safe friend. It’s the most gentle exfoliator I’ve ever found that actually does something: with regular use my skin is smooth and brighter and it never, never irritates it. If you’re after a manual exfoliator I wholeheartedly recommend this one!
Then it’s the turn of my beloved MAC Blot Powder. I already talked about it here in my MAC Haul, and it’s the only powder I’ve ever repurchased, let alone many times. The favorite thing for me is that it’s undetectable on the skin all day long. It’s so finely milled that it’s really hard to make it look powdery, and it sets makeup completely. With this powder I get a shine free look all day long even in the summer heat, of course with the right foundation underneath, and at the same time its not a powder that makes me look flat but saves a little bit of glow in the right places. A bit of MAC love after my disappointment with their last foundation!
Finally comes my Nars Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base, that was also in my Empties Post. In the meantime I’ve tried the new Dior Backstage Eye Prime, a flesh coloured primer that comes in a pot. Aside from the need to get used to the completely different consistency, that made my eyeshadows crease. I tried to apply the lightest layer or a thicker one, on my bare lid or with powder on, and my eyeshadow creased after a few hours. On the other hand, with my Nars one I can be confident wearing eyeshadow for as long as I want (even more then 20 hours if I ever need it) and my eye makeup will still be like freshly applied when I take it off. It’s love!
Which product have you repurchased again and again? Have you ever returned to an old favorite after trying something else? Tell me in the comments!
Quale prodotto avete ricomprato ancora e ancora?
I mostly repurchase mascaras coz they need to be thrown out every 5-6 months, sometimes I try new ones, otherwise I just stick to my oldies. I've repurchased the Maybelline HyperCurl mascara twice :)

Actually I've repurchased L'Oreal False Lash Flutter twice in the classic version and once in the wp one... But it's the only one I've ever repurchased ;) xx
ReplyDeleteNars primer is one of the best ones I tried! I had a sample of it, but now I have to make a decision either to purchase it or not :) Also, you've sparked my interest in buying the mac blot powder-I still have the mineralize skinfish which is too dark for my skin tone somehow :(
ReplyDeleteHey Gyudy, I totally love MAC Blot Powder and as usual waiting to lay my hands on NARS.

I never found anything as good as the Mac Blot Powder. Xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a shame, I hate when things are the wrong colour... The blot powder is perfect, and is available in light shades that are pretty forgiving :) I adore the Nars primer, I wanted to explore a bit more but I was missing it so much! ;) xx
ReplyDeleteWhen Nars arrived in Italy I went a bit crazy! ;) xx
ReplyDeleteIt's the best powder I've ever tried, not even the most finally milled loose ones can compare ;) xx
ReplyDeleteeven for me repurchasing any item is big deal bcos i always looks out for new products
ReplyDeletethat NARS is most wanted in my wish-list
hopefully soon

Mostly I repurchase skincare rather than makeup because I always want to try something new. :) Some of my fav brands are Murad, Ole Henriksen and Yes to. Lately I've been into MAC makeup which I kind of forgot about for a few years. :) that exfoliator looks awesome.
ReplyDeleteOh noo I'm so sorry to hear the Dior primer doesn't work for you! I've been testing it out for a while now, and it works great for me! I like the NARS one as well, but the packaging? Not so much. I am hoping they'll go the UD way and put it in a squeeze tube instead!
ReplyDeleteI need to try the Mac blot powder, ive heard amazing things!

It's funny how that happens. :-)
ReplyDeleteYou're right, the packaging could be better... In fact I put the primer on my finger before I apply it, I don't go straight in with the sponge. At leas is a simple tube and the product can't go in unreachable corners! ;) xx
ReplyDeleteIt's really really good, and from my experience and what I've heard it's pretty good for different skin types as it's mattifying but not drying ;) xx
ReplyDeleteI love the sound of the NARS primer.. I love NARS but I've never tried their primer xx
ReplyDeleteGemma // Miss Makeup Magpie
It's great, foolproof to blend as it's transparent and holds shadows in place for the longest time! ;) xx
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I am not so much into re purchasing stuff just cos of my constant fetish to look for something new..Having said so, if I remember hard, the only things that I have probably repurchased r few lipsticks n powders from mac...
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Mac Blot Powder although I haven't repurchased it in a long time as I haven't been able to justify the cost. It's hands down the best powder I've ever used though. I really wanted to try the Nars eyeshadow base, I always use the UD Primer Potion but I've heard such good things about this one!
ReplyDeleteHi honey,
ReplyDeleteI nominated you for Lienster Award.

I have never finished a lipstick in my life, lol! The fact you have it's impressing enough for me! ;) xx
ReplyDeleteI like it a lot more, keeps eyeshadow in place a lot longer for me! Yes, the Blot Powder is pretty expensive but I find it absolutely worth it! ;) xx
ReplyDeleteThank you!!! I will write the post in time for saturday ;) xx
