Spring is still quite far away, but pretty much every brand has launched its Spring Collection. When I started seeing pictures online, I immediately knew that the things I needed to have were two: the Chanel blush I featured in my January Favourites, and the Clarins Garden Escape Palette.
This palette has a mixture of soft pinks and greens and it’s simply gorgeous to look at: isn’t it so beautiful?
And it’s amazingly good for a soft, spring look. The shadows are soft and buttery but not insanely pigmented: in fact when used dry they’re pretty sheer. Used wet they obviously give a more intense look, but personally I quite like the soft effect of them dry.
My favourite look includes all the six shades: the first shade in the inner corner, the two pinks from lighter to darker on the lid, the lightest green in the crease, the darkest one in the outer corner and the brown to diffuse the crease softly.
I’ve also tried mixing and matching for different combinations (the pinks with the brown look stunning!), and the result has always been soft and sophisticated: very Clarins!
If you love soft pinks and greens this palette is for you, but if you only go bold when wearing colour you can probaly skip it. I think it’s a nice way to put some colour into an everyday look (you really feel like walking in a beautiful Spring garden full of beautiful flowers!), and a very chic one.
Have you tried this palette? What are your makeup picks for this upcoming Spring?
I saw this palette in store the other day and it's lovely. Unfortunately the colours are not much my usual choice but like you said, it's a nice palette for those who like pinks and greens. x

I remember seeing this online when it first came out and I was like wow, but when swatching it in store I just wasn't blown away by the shades. It does scream spring though and it's also very sophisticated like you said x

Ummm, I LOVE this palette! I love Clarins, but have never thought to actually look at their eye shadows. I've only ever used their skin care. Okay. Now I'm heading over to look at the rest of their makeup! (Beautiful photos by the way!)

The pigmentation of these shadows is not the best but the palette itself is so gorgeous! I think I would just stare at it not being able to swatch it, haha! I got recently a Chanel quad from their Spring collection and as well the shadows are not extremely pigmented, but like you said they give nice, sophisticated, more grown-up look :) x

this kind of makes me wish i was a bit more daring with my eye makeup, but i always just stick to neutrals and black liquid liner! the furthest i branch out is to some neutral-ish purples or i can get on board with khaki green but even pinks are a bit intimidating for me - it's funny how people's tastes can be so different. it's lovely to look at though, and those colours certainly are the epitome of spring!

What a beautiful palette! I absolutely adore that light pink shade. It is so feminine.

Hello Gyudy,
ReplyDeleteFirstly, your photo e' meraviglioso!!! Clarins should use your photo to promote this palette.
Clarins mineral eyeshadows are so buttery smooth. I have a palette from last Christmas that is amazing. I agree using them wet really makes a big difference in the color payoff. Sadly, this brand does not get the recognition it deserves.
I love these colors, especially the dark forest green. Well done my friend.

Hey Gyudy, great pick! Everybody loves this palette so much that I think I'll have to take a closer look! Will you do a look with it at some point? I'd love to see that!
ReplyDeleteThis palette looks so pretty! I just don't know about the greens.. I don't think they would suit me. Clarins really upped their game here though, the patterns in the eyeshadow shades are beautiful.

I fell in love with this palette the moment I first laid eyes on it, it's soooo pretty! And I am clearly not alone ;-)
ReplyDeleteThis palette looks dreamy! I love how subtle the colors are. The pinks look so soft and pretty, definitely a great pick for someone who likes subtle touches of pink.

This is a really cute palette! It's definitely not one I'd be naturally drawn to in the shop but it looks gorgeous in the swatches x
ReplyDeleteLove and Marmalade
It had to have taken you a while to arrange those beautiful petals! ;D Well worth it, though, since the picture came out amazing! :D The shadows are so soft and feminine from the swatches, perfect for Spring! Would love to see your looks using this palette!
ReplyDeleteI do love the shades in the palette, perfect with a floral printed white dress for that romantic look :)

Yes, and they aren't the dangerous pinks that can make your eyes look red! It's really dreamy as you said :) xx
ReplyDeleteIf I had to think about it probably I would have left it there because it's not my usual choice either, but it looked so beautiful that I had to get it and I'm so glad I decided to experiment a bit more! ;) xx
ReplyDeleteI know, the swatches aren't impressive because the shade are also pretty sheer, but it's the beauty of it for once I think! ;) xx
ReplyDeleteThank you! :) I have used a few various things from them but not vey much, I tend to forget about Clarins until something screams my name, lol! I've loved everything I tried from them though :) xx
ReplyDeleteI know, rubbing the pans to do the swatches was so painful! The design is gorgeous :) For once I love the effect of less pigmented eyeshadow, and I bet they've done it on purpose ;) xx
ReplyDeleteIt's so beautiful! And the compact is gorgeous too :) xx
ReplyDeleteThey're so beautiful! :) xx
ReplyDeleteIt is, and totally worth it! :) xx
ReplyDeleteI was a bit hesitant about the pinks but this is a great palette to ease into them as they're not the scary ones that can make your eyes look red! I often stick to neutrals too, but when I take the time to experiment I usually love the result... Not every colorful combination suits everyone but makeup can also about having fun sometimes ;) xx
ReplyDeleteYes, it's soft and chic! It's really a beautiful piece :) xx
ReplyDeleteGrazie!!! You're really too kind!!! :) I know, I tend to forget about Clarins too! Then I try something from them and fall in love all over again :) I totally agree with you, the dark green and the taupe are incredible! :) xx
ReplyDeleteI tried a couple of times to take pictures of a look to include in this post but the lighting has been just awful! But I will surely do at least one at some point, even if just for an instagram selfie ;) xx
ReplyDeleteThe pattern is incredibly beautiful, I didn't want to ruin it at first ;) I thing green is easier to wear than we think, definitely a colour to try (it just needs the right blush and lipstick I'd say)! :) xx
ReplyDeleteYou're totally not alone! It was love at first sight <3 xx
